Moreover, they take pride in their homemade sides, prepared from scratch, including soulful collard greens infused with smoked turkey, refreshing coleslaw, flavorful potato salad, crispy hush puppies, and savory red beans and rice. In the wake of her father's untimely passing in 2001, Georgette Powell stepped into the role of custodian for Mel's Fish. Carrying on her father's legacy, Georgette has infused her own passion and expertise into the business, ensuring that Mel's Fish remains a beloved institution within the community.
